How to mount your PC GAMER - tutorial 2022 - techipii
mounting your PC GAMER - tutorial

Hello everyone on the PC GAMER article, it's Icham, and today we meet for a new tech article on the Techipii blog.

Today, I will show you howhow to build a PC GAMER from A to Z on your own PC and you will see that it is very easy and accessible to everyone. You will find that the assembly of your own gaming PC has several advantages.

The first choice is for economic reasons:

It costs less to assemble a GAMER PC yourself, and you can get the best price by choosing different components and buying from the cheapest retailer.

If you buy a pre-assembled PC from a dealer, it will already cost you more, if you buy all the components from a dealer and choose the assembly option, you will still have to pay for the assembly, while you could have to Do it yourself.

It's a short step that takes an hour and a half, maybe three hours, it's the very first time you do it, but in itself, it is something pretty fast to do, not too complicated, And that saves money.

The second major decision to assemble your own PC:

Instead of buying a pre-assembled PC, you can choose the perfect motherboard for your use, the perfect processor, the RAM modules, and almost everything with the aesthetics you want.

Get a fully personalized 100% personalized PC as you wish, this is complicated to find on pre-assembled PCs, that's why we always recommend mounting your own PC yourself.

    The necessary tools

The tools you need are not complicated at all, everything you need is a cruciform screwdriver, it is the only compulsory thing, so you need and once you have this cruciform screwdriver is good.

So, at the recommended level, you can use a classic screwdriver, but I personally recommend using a magnetic screwdriver, like that as soon as you have a small screw that falls in the bottom of the case somewhere you get it.

    Configuration detail

We will then now go to the different phases of the PC assembly, there are 12 stages, I include chapters on the summary of the article, in case there is a specific part that you would like to see,, like for example The installation of water-cooling or ventured or the installation of the power supply, or the facade connector, you can directly access the chapters that interest you to read that.

Before explaining to you the process of mounting the PC, I will already present the components that I have chosen for the PC that I will climb precisely in this article.

We're already starting with the case, it's the Corsair 4000D airflow, it's called airflow because it allows you to have a great airflow inside to cool all the components ultra-efficiently.

    1. Place the processor

The first step will be the placement of the processor on the motherboard, you will first take the motherboard out of its box, you will place the motherboard on the motherboard box to avoid damaging the desktop, and will take out the processor.

There you will have to be careful because either on the processor or on the motherboard there are small pins, so if you are on an Intel processor, an AMD Ryzen 7000 processor or more or on Dripper fees then there the pins are on the motherboard so be careful not to drop anything where there is the processor, etc…

Then if you are on AMD Ryzen before the 7000, there you will have pins on the processor, so be careful because a small damaged pin can have the RAM working better or problems with the processor, so be careful.

    How to place the processor?

It's pretty simple, you lift the latch on the motherboard so you just press it down and then pull it up, you lift the latch and then you put the processor in.

To know how to place it in which direction etc…

You have a small indicator which is both on the processor and on the motherboard and which makes it possible to avoid making mistakes, you are going to match these two small indicators and then you are going to place the processor on the motherboard, go y gently, don't force it, so you put it down gently if you see that it moves a little bit, take it off and repeat this step until it's stable, and once it's done, you will then bring the plate and the latch back again and relock the latch where it was, to completely secure the processor to the motherboard.

It's not a complicated procedure, but you have to be very careful not to damage the motherboard and the processor.

Take your time and if in doubt repeat this step and remove the processor. Again, we're not forcing it, but we shouldn't be forcing it at this point.

    2. Install RAM

We now go to step 2.

which is the installation of the RAM in the pc.

This step is very very simple you will see, for those who have four RAM bars you do not have to ask yourself the question but for those who have two RAM bars, you must ask yourself which location to place the RAM bars so that you will look on the documentation of your motherboard, which are the slots for the dual channel, but knows that in 99% of cases it is slot number 2 and number 4 on which you have placed your RAM bars.

Check the motherboard documentation anyway in case that's not it for you, but know that in general, it is.

Dual Channel for those who are wondering if it doubles the bandwidth of the RAM, so do it, in fact, the right placement of RAM sticks on your motherboard allows you to double the bandwidth and suddenly gain performance.

Then to place the RAM it's very simple, you will open the small latches of the RAM bar slots, and then you will see that approximately towards the center of the ram bar you have a small key, it is not perfectly in place. center but it allows you to know in which direction you will have to put the ram strip on the motherboard.

If you can't adjust the bar and you see that it doesn't fit, you must not force it otherwise you risk damaging the pores on the motherboard.

Check if the polarizer is correctly positioned, you will have to reverse the bar, it means that it is not in the right direction, If it is not in the right place, you will have to return the bar. In other words, if they are not oriented correctly, pressing on either end of the RAM bar will lower the bar and close both latches. This means that the rods are engaged.

    3. 3. Install NVME SSD on the gamer pc

    Step number 3

we will place the SSD M.2.

SSD M.2 SATA or M.2 NVME so this is what is connected directly to the motherboard, if you have been careful about this step, for that it's quite simple you will look at your documentation where These locations of Port M.2 are located.

You are going to have ports M.2 PCI Express 3.0 or PC Express 4.0, look carefully if you ever have an SSD PC Express 4 be careful to put it on a strong PC Express 4 on the motherboard to be sure to have the Maximum speed.

Then it's not complicated, so you will take out the SSD from its box, you will then unscrew the mini radiator which has on the motherboard so sometimes there are not on motherboards between range and most of the time you have A small radiator, a small cache you will unscrew you will open it and there you will have the location which will be visible.

At this place there you will just start the SSD in its location, there is a small de trump so we can not be mistaken, and then we must screw this SSD with a small screw which is supplied in the box of the motherboard, generally, You have two or three, once it is done, you will be careful you have to put the small radiator back on the location but before you will see that there is a thermal step a pad that allows the heat to be transmitted From the SSD to the radiator so that the heat can gray.

Above we have a small plastic movie, remember to remove the small plastic film before revealing it so that there is perfect contact between the pad and the SSD and the heat dissipates, once it is done You replace the radiator put the two screws back and that's it your SSD is fixed and then you start this step for each SSD that you want to place in your config.

    4. Place the motherboard in the case

    Now step 4.

we are going to take care of placing the motherboard in the case.

Basic you have spacers that are already placed in the case that will allow you to fix the motherboard, sometimes you have to add, sometimes they have removed if you have a smaller motherboard, you check how many screws need your Your motherboard to have the right locations and adapt sometimes you have to add spacers sometimes there is nothing to do, but look at the documentation of both the motherboard and the case to know what you need to do.

Then you will take them out of the small screws that will allow you to fix the motherboard on the case, and before using these screws you will place the IO Shield plate.

What is the IO Shield plaque?

It is a small plate that allows you to protect the connectors from the motherboard, you will fix it on the case and then you will be able to place the motherboard, so know that there are a lot of mother cards now, especially the models high-end that already have the integrated IO Shield plaque, so you may not need to do this step in the Io Shield plate if you ever have a motherboard that already has this integrated card, once you have Well placed the motherboard in the case you have more than to screw the different screws which are provided to fix the motherboard.

    5. Install the power supply

    step 5.

Now we will place the power supply in the PC.

Why are we doing this now?

We are going to do this to immediately place the CPU cables which can be a little complicated later to place, once we have put in the water cooling, for example, it is more complicated, the motherboard power cables and we will also run the cables for the graphics card.

There you take the power supply out of its box, you have two types of power supply you have modular power supplies and the non-modular ones, among the non-modular ones there are some which are semi-modular, that is to say, you have the base of the cable, to the motherboard processor but the other cables are removable.

What you're going to do is if it's modular or semi-modular and take out all the cables you need you'll need a cable for the motherboard then you're going to connect in general that's on the part central right of the motherboard, so this is a 24-battery cable, you will also have to take out the CPU cables or the cables, you look at what your motherboard needs, this is the location at the top left on the motherboard, so sometimes it's once eight batteries sometimes it's twice eight pins... sometimes it's 8 + 4 pins, so it's up to you to take out the cables you need and put them connect to the top left on your motherboard.

You must also take out the cables for the graphics card, there you look at your graphics card and what it needs twice 8 pins of 3 x 8 pins...

You take out the cables you need, you connect them to it, then it's the SATA cables, look at how much you need SATA or Molex cables, the SATA cables you may need, sometimes for watercooling for the little ones RGB or fan control boxes, you may need it for 2.5 -inch SATAR SATAR format or for hard drives.

Taken out all the cables you need, you connect it all and then you place the motherboard in the case, so there is a particular meaning most of the time so on almost all the boxes it is necessary that the fan is at the bottom So that it can ventilate it, check the meaning well is specified in the documentation of the housing, but here is, in general, it is necessary that the fan is at the bottom so that it can be well.

You place the power in the case then you have four screws which are provided either with the case or with the power supply, sometimes it is even supplied with both, you take these four screws and then you screw the power supply and it is done.

Then you have more to connect the processor cables that you have already put on the power supply, the 24 PIN cable to put on the central right of the motherboard, and you can already pull the cables for the graphics card so you will need a little later towards the end of the PC assembly.

    6. Plug in the facade

Then we're going to go to the facade connection.

Note that the case has connectors, a USB port, a headphone jack, a microphone socket, a USB type-C, USB 3, USB 2 socket, a power button, D 'A reset button, and many connectors that must be connected, it must be connected to the motherboard so that it works.

This step there we will do it now before moving forward on other elements to what we have the whole motherboard which is available and it will be easier, you have connected these different cables but know that to know where Connect it you have all the info in the document on the Mére card, but I will explain to you what are the usual locations on mother cards even if it can change from one motherboard to another but I will usually tell you Where is it located.

When you locate the USB 3 sockets, you will generally find them at the bottom of the motherboard either on the right or towards the center of the motherboard and you will see it is you can not go wrong.

Then you have USB type C, it is fairly special connectivity, be careful there is only one direction in which we can bring the cable to enter so put the good in the direction, in general, it is the same it is On the right to the center of the motherboard not very far from the 24 power supply cable.

Another type of cable, you have USB sockets, which you can find almost everywhere but in general, it is at the bottom of the motherboard over the entire line, we can find two or three USB sockets in general.

Then you have the front connection so reset power, HDD led, you know the small LEDs that are displayed when combined on the hard drive ... All this, in general, is at the bottom right on the motherboard and you can Go to the documentation of the motherboard to find out exactly what pines are those for the Power CE for the reset this for the Power LED CE for the HD of LEDs…

Be careful to connect these different small connectors well, not to reverse because if you for example put the power in the wrong place it does not work when you will want to light the PC if you put the reset and you revers With the Power, it may create problems, you are careful not to be mistaken, look at the documentation of the motherboard.

The last type of cable is the audio cables, you know with the headphone jack, the microphone socket is a socket that is at the bottom left on the motherboard you find it quite easily, there is a small Draft so as not to be mistaken, so as not to confuse with the USB ports.

    7. Connect the housing fans

     Go to step number 7.

To connect all the housing fans to your PC.

For fans it is very simple, either in your case, you have a very small control box on which you can connect the fan, and it is often included with the case, you will connect all your fans on it, and then there will be A cable that will come out of this case that you will have to go connect you are on the motherboard either on a USB socket, or on a fan socket, and the fan sockets are called 6 fans or ch a fan, if you ever 'Do not have this small case supplied with your gaming pc you will have to connect the fans directly to the motherboard, as I told you on the ports where there is written ch a fan or 6 fans, so there you can watch the Documentation of the motherboard still where it indicates all the locations, know that there are not one billion of the locations, from the moment you have a little too many fans, you will have to go through a small control box, even if it is not provided with C your PC case, there will be one next to it.

      8. Place the Ventirad / Watercooling

Now we are going to step number 8.
Which will be the step to place the Ventirad or the watercooling depending on what you have chosen as a cooling system for your PC.

The first step will be the thermal dough, we will apply thermal dough on the processor, I have that the thermal dough allows the heat of the processor to be transmitted on the cooling block, so that is contact Really everywhere on the entire surface and effectively transmit this heat, it is important to have a good thermal paste and especially that it is well applied over the entire surface.

You will already check on your Ventirad or on the block of your water cooling if there is not already thermal dough, sometimes there is already, me the recommendation that I make to you is to remove it and use your own thermal dough that there you will be sure at least that it is good thermal dough, you are never sure what is pre-applying on a ventured or a water-cooling, sometimes it's very good But sometimes it is poor quality so it would be a shame to buy a watercooling or a very expensive ventured and to end up with poor thermal dough, it will reduce the efficiency of the cooling system.

Note that in the end, go on a good thermal paste compared to an average thermal paste, sometimes it can save 2.5 10 degrees on the processor cooling, it is very interesting especially when you choose a good cooling system, it would be a shame to restrict its effectiveness because of poor thermal dough.

Then to apply the thermal dough, often it is recommended what people recommend is to put a small hazelnut in the center of the processor and then put the cooling, because I recommend you rather will be to put this Small hazelnut in the center of the processor, so not huge quantity, the equivalent of a pea really no more, really not that there are many, then you will spread this thermal paste on the entire processor way that there is a perfect contact between the processor and the cooling block, when you just put a small hazelnut or even a cross in the end there are not everywhere on the surface of the processor and in my opinion it is less Effective, this is all the more important if you are on an AMD processor, Intel processors tend to heat a lot in the center in the end putting a small hazelnut in the center is not a really problem with the Intel processors, p AR against MDs tend to heat in several places on the surface of the processor so it's good to really have thermal dough over the entire surface.

For the installation of Ventirad or Watercooling know that the methods change entirely from one model to another from one manufacturer to another, you will have to take out the user manual you have with your ventured or with your watercooling, I will still give you the different steps that we usually have to set a Ventirad and then I will speak to you for the Ayo watercooling.

For a ventured it is the simplest method, you will therefore take out the fan and the radiator of the box, you will place and fix the fan on the radiator, you will then have a small fixing system to place at the level of The motherboard to attach the radiator, you will place on the radiator and then you will just have to connect the fan cable to the CPU fan socket which is on the motherboard.

Still careful in the sense in which you put the fan, make sure that the fan blows the air good ideally towards the back of the case or otherwise upwards, especially not that it goes downwards or forward.

Then for watercooling it is quite simple too, the first step you will take out the fans from the box you have fixed the fans on the radiator so be careful because there is a specific meaning, to know what way Pass the air, then you will fix the radiator to the case, then there are different ways.

This is a fairly similar method a ventured you will have a small fixing plate that will put itself behind the motherboard and then you can fix the waterblock, and then you will connect the pump, in general, you have to connect it so either it There are small owners depending on the brand, either you must connect this to the Ayo Pump socket which is on the motherboard, and if you do not have to pump you see it on CPU fan or CPU fan2 or CPU OPT.

Last little info to fix the waterblock or the Ventirad when you have fixed the block on the processor, you will have four screws, screwed in the cross so see it's a little at the top left and a little bit at the bottom right than A little bit down to approach a little at the top right, you do like that in a loop so that the thermal dough remains well applied to the entire surface of the processor.

      9. Connect 2.5" Hard Drives and SSDs

Now we will move on to the step of connecting 2.5-inch SATA format SSDs or hard drives in the case.

You have slots that are provided by the case, and there you will bring out the small documentation, if ever you have not located these slots it indicates them to you in the doc it tells you there are 3.5-inch slots, 2, 5 inches, etc.

You will have all the information on the locations, it will allow you to know where to place your discs, you will place them and screw them, either you have screws supplied with the case, or sometimes there are quick fasteners that allow you to place SSDs or HDDs quickly.

You are going to do that and you are going to fix the disks, and once that is done you will have two cables to connect each time there will be a SATA power cable that you will have already placed in the previous steps on the power supply from your PC, you will connect this cable to power the hard disk or the SSD, then there is another cable a second cable will be connected to it between the disk and the motherboard so a plug a SATA data cable do anyway be careful because in general there are only two that are supplied with motherboards, so if you plan to put two hard drives and a 2.5 inch SSD, you risk missing a cable.

Sometimes there are some high-end motherboards where there are 3, 4, or 5 cables, but in general, on most motherboards, it's two cables, be careful to think about buying an extra cable if ever you don't have enough, then once you connect the power cable and the data cable, it's good everything is done and your disk will be recognized will just format it once you start the PC.

      10. Install the graphics card

We now come to step number 10.

We will connect the graphics card.

We are going to plug the graphics card into the PC here we are at the end of the assembly, it is very simple, first thing you are going to do, you are going to take the graphics card out of its box, you are going to check that there is no small protection at the level of the PC Express connector is on the bottom of the graphics card, sometimes there is small protection, then at the level of the case you will see that there are small PCI Express covers, you go unscrew them then sometimes depending on the carafe we remove two of the times we remove three of the times you only have to remove one, you remove depending on the thickness of your graphics card and you will still keep the screw well because that you will need later to fix the graphics card.

Then it's not complicated there is a small latch on the motherboard you will connect your graphics card to the PC Express port which is the highest on the motherboard, you will press the small latch which is located on the right of the PC express door, and then you will engage the graphics card in this PC express port and as soon as it is engaged the latch will close by itself to lock the graphics card.

Then you just have to recover the screws you had on the PC express covers and use them to screw the graphics card to the case, once that's done, all you have to do is install the power cables. we had taken out what we had prepared at the start of the PC assembly and connected them to the graphics card to power it.

      11. Test that the PC is working

      Then, in step number 11.
It becomes very easy, Connect your PC electrically, connect a cable between your PC and the screen, and make sure that it works correctly.

Boot the PC so it can see the target and enter the BIOS. So the BIOS isn't Windows, but it's this screen where you can get information about your PC when you pass this step, which usually means everything is working. No error message.

If you have error messages, you can always join, You can also write a short comment under this article. We hope that everyone who reads this article finds a solution.

If you have any problems, insert your small Windows installation key, install Windows and make sure everything is working.

After completing this step your PC should be up and Windows should be installed and running, you can skip stepping 12 it is optional but highly recommended. This is a cable management procedure.

      12. Management cable

They're what you are going to do, you are going to group all the cables, you are going to make sure to tighten them with the sercapes that are supplied with the box, you are going to sort the cables into different categories, but that is the goal is that it's clean and that it's much cleaner at the back of the PC but also inside, pull the cables as much as possible so that there are no cables in all inside the PC, and it is also for a question of aesthetics so that it is much more beautiful, so this step is not obligatory but I strongly recommend it to you.

And that's it for this PC editing tutorial, I hope it helped you, if so don't forget to support me to subscribe.

As you can see, the assembly of the PC is not very complicated, it's just that when you do it for the first time you have to take your time not to make mistakes, and to do things correctly, but that's is within everyone's reach and therefore I strongly recommend that you take the plunge and build your PC Gamer yourself.

I'll leave you for today, I hope you enjoyed this article, see you in a few days for a new article on this techipii blog, in the meantime wear well, and see you soon.
